Troy Travis and an 18-year-old friend were shot while riding bikes on the 700 block of South 56th Street around 12:18 a.m., police said. Travis was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head. His friend was reported in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with a gunshot wound to the right hand.

Everyone needs to wake up! Death is forever. Really, was this worth someone's life? How long are we going to have vigils for the dead? Are you fed up? I am definitely fed up! I am tired. We don't need a vigil to unite like this, we need to unite to fight together to stop this senseless acts of violence. Babies are dying out here and it's real!
