365 Days Photo Journey: Day 19

Trent was my Ginnie pig. Please don't ask me how he got into eating paper but he started eating paper and I thought that would be fun to catch his expressions while he ate paper. So here we have Trent eating paper. These kids do the darnest things just for a few laughs and he's hilarious. I support teenagers doing crazy things like this. One of my gifted teens doing gifted things with his time. I enjoyed these snap shots. So today remember to laugh and enjoy each moment of your loved ones lives. Tomorrow is not promised.

Peace and love.

(Sorry for the day delay but there was a lot of alcohol involved)

Dana invited me to celebrate her 35th Birthday party. Happy Birthday Dana! Put Aside the fact that the DJ sucked big time we've managed to enjoy ourselves. I enjoyed that I am able to capture some of her moments for her. The crew usually gets wild later on in the night but I had to leave early. (Sad face) But hey, your hardest working woman have to take some time to celebrate good times, right? Enjoy the photos from last night!

Peace and love.

When people, things, and events in life starts to bother me I find comfort in writing out my thoughts and feelings. I am inspired by problems, troubles, adversity, dilemmas, injustice, and drama. I don't like any of those mentioned things so I speak on why I don't like it. My passionate views comes out by way of blogging or journal entries. I hope to write more passionately about the happier views in life such as love, friendship, loyalty, inspirations, goals and dreams. But for now I speak out on topics that others shy away from because they are afraid of the judgments and ridicules. I choose to exercise my freedom of speech. I am entitled to my opinions and I will speak my mind. Today I encourage you to speak out for those who may not have the courage to speak. "Stand for something, or else you will fall for anything." Quote by Malcolm X.

Life is an ever changing combination of experiments which often leads to the final product or the end result. There's a saying that goes, "If we are not careful we are doomed to repeat history." Learn from the past and be willing to open your mind to new ideas. A successful person can blend in with the crowd but still stand out. What makes you stand out and out shine everyone else in a room?

Peace and Love.

PEACE NOT GUNS

"Peace Not Guns Inc. was established in 1998 after the murder of Sultan “Chick” Chandler, the cousin of State Representative Kenyatta Johnson, which occurred in the schoolyard of G.W. Child's Elementary School. After receiving the news of Sultan’s murder, Rep. Johnson decided to find away to change the direction of his community as oppose to contributing to the violence that plagued his neighborhood. Peace not Guns is a violence prevention program that addresses the senseless acts of violence that are taking the lives of many young adults, especially young Black and Latino males."

Pretty Pink Boxes with ribbons! These beautifully wrapped boxes appeals to the little girl within me. It reminds me of sugar, spice, and everything nice. Inside these boxes are filled with keepsakes, cards, and letters. Each item carries with it some type of memory in my life. The good times, the bad times, or the bittersweet moments. I want to remember it all. The bad times, will remind me that there can be good times. The bittersweet moments will have me resolving to not make the same mistakes twice. These pretty boxes are a capsule of my life. What is in your capsule?

Peace and love.

I am giving up on the business suits, cubicles, and corporate world today to do work that I am passionate about. Helping youths, those who may need the extra guidance and life skills that are not provided to them due to their economic and social disadvantage. Change is scary but I believe in my heart of heart that this is the right decision that I am making. I don't want to sit at my cubicle one day and wonder what if? "If only I had..." is not a legacy I want to leave behind. I want to be able to follow my dreams and express my passion to the fullest. I want to take a chance and walk the road that is less traveled. I hope that road leads to happiness. Today, resolve to put aside your fears and follow your dreams, realize your passion and just do it.

Peace and Love.

My books collection. Can I say that I've read every book on my shelves? The answer is No. My intentions when purchasing these materials were to read it but it sits there and on some occasion I will have it in my bag just in case, I were to do some reading. Other times, my fingers will occasionally skim through it, jotting notes, getting ideas, feeling inspired, but never finishing what I've started. I resolve to one day read, read, read, and finish reading. Some of us don't spend enough time reading. Other things in life take precedence of our time but exercising your brain should be a priority. Today resolve to read more. Knowledge is power.

Peace and love.

Fish Eye Fun. G showing off his wooden sword and some acting skills. He is obsessed with swords, animations, and over dramatizations of every thing. There are worst things that a teenager can be doing at his age. So Kudos to his dramatics, obsessions with swords and animations. Today, parents encourage your child to express their individuality. Support the positive things that your child may be doing. Your child may not become the doctor or lawyer that you want them to become but be proud in their achievements and most importantly support them in their passion.

Peace and Love.

Self Portrait equals Self Evaluation. In this photo, I am showing off how uncomfortable I am in front of a camera. My smile is phony and I was slouching. There were a dozen more of these terrible shots of myself either looking bored, mean, dead, ugly, or other. This is the winner. Yes, I am my own worse critic. I evaluate myself daily. I am hard on myself because I know I have the potential to be better or do better. I am aware of my flaws and I have many. But not many people evaluate themselves honestly. They pacify their egos and feed their lies. For those of you out there that are aware and are constantly self evaluating yourselves for a better you, KUDOS. Others please resolve to make positive changes within, tear yourself apart, list your good qualities, list your bad qualities, but be brutally honest. Some times you are your own worst enemy so learn and strategize on ways to beat YOU and start building a better you.

Peace and Love

365 Days Photo Journey: Day 10

Note: Due to technical difficulties I was not able to take my photo a day. But now I am back up and running. Hopefully this will not be the case in the near future. My 365 Days Photo Journey continues where I left off and I will have 365 days worth of photos. I will not cheat. Cheating is not allowed. Enjoy!

I was out shopping and I saw the sun setting in the horizons. The orange, yellowish hues cascading off of the clouds created a beautiful view. It reminded me of an earlier moment in the day in which I sat staring off into space. The cool breeze blew in an air of nostalgia and I started to reminisce on the good and the bad that I've experienced in my life. I was appreciating life, the journey, and the future. I am grateful as I sat and self reflected on all of the accomplishments I have made throughout the years. I am thankful because I know that my journey has no limit and the Sky is my stomping grounds. So today resolve to self reflect and set limits beyond the sky.

Peace and love.
