The majority of us would tell ourselves, our family and our friends, "Who cares what people say about you," to build within them a sense of confidence and spend less time worrying about what people think of us. However the older I get, the more I realize that we are constantly judged by others. Everyone has an opinion and it is empowering to have the I don't give a shit about what you think attitude. But do we really feel that way? The way we dress and our appearance are what strangers judge us by. Why do we make sure our children look presentable for school? Why do we dress our best during job interviews? Why do we dress to appeal to the opposite sex when out on a date? Isn't it contradictory to tell someone who cares when we spend all of our life caring?
